he results are in! With the 2022 academic year concluding in June, Dixie Technical College continued to show strong growth in both student numbers and instructional hours. It’s exciting to see that as the community grows, Dixie Tech programs are growing with it.

Dixie Tech’s mission is to provide accelerated training in high-demand occupations at a low cost to students.

According to data provided by the Utah System of Higher Education, in the past year the number of instructional hours in Dixie Tech’s certificate seeking programs grew a solid 11%. The prior year saw a 25% growth in hours. In spite of the economic uncertainties facing families and communities, Dixie Tech has shown a unique ability to adapt and thrive.

The number of program certificate seeking students increased from 1,117 in 2021 to 1,446 in the year just ended, a 29% increase. Since Dixie Tech moved to its current campus on St. George’s Tech Ridge in October of 2017, the number of enrolled certificate seeking students has almost doubled.

“I’m so pleased with this level of growth. Each one of these numbers represents a student who is receiving quality hands-on education and preparing to go to work in a high demand field,” said Jordan Rushton, the Interim President of Dixie Technical College. “Each year, we continue to see more growth, more interest in what we are doing, and more people realizing the positive impact of a technical college education.”

With so many popular programs filling up months in advance, Dixie Tech is committed to serving the community and keeping up with the continued growth. Whether that means increased offerings for secondary students, adding additional cohorts to programs, or expanding our campus, our priority is to ensure that everyone seeking a hands-on higher education experience has the opportunity to attend Dixie Technical College and fulfill their goals.
