Throughout the app development programs at Dixie Technical College, students acquire essential skills and techniques required to build fully functional apps. They have the chance to develop their own original app projects with guidance from our instructors as they apply their skills and showcase their creativity. One student, Bubba (Derek) Hall, applied his time throughout the course to create an app for the disc golf industry. He saw the difficulty associated with keeping disc golf equipment organized, and in turn he designed and developed the “Disc Organized” app. The app helps users virtually track where all of their equipment is as well as allows them to search for any new or different discs that are available. His app has been released on the iTunes store and will soon be available in the Google Play Store.

At Dixie Technical College, you get to experience what being an app developer is really like. Our students have a couple pathways to choose from that allow a focus on IOS or Android systems. Through hands-on training and step-by-step guidance from our instructors, students learn native coding languages such as Kotlin, Jetpack, Swift, storyboards, and SwiftUI. Throughout the program, students have the opportunity to conceive, design, and develop their very own original apps, which are eventually published on popular app stores.
