Digital Design

The Digital Media Technology Program at Dixie Tech provides students with a strong foundation across diverse fields like graphic design, digital media, and video production. Students gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience creating digital media for print, TV, film, web, and mobile. You will even gain experience in graphic tee design, and best production practices. 

Coursework gives students the opportunity to design creative collateral for real companies and clients. Topics include UX design, UI design, design principles, photography, video production, image editing, illustration, desktop publishing, motion graphics, web design, small business marketing, and a final portfolio project.

Students develop necessary skills for entry-level digital media careers and learn industry best practices in graphic design, illustration, photography, motion graphics, and front-end web design. They also gain experience with Adobe Creative Suite software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.

You are required to work on a personal MacBook. If you already have one, you are welcome to bring it for class. We require that it features an M2 Pro chip or a more advanced processor. Below, you’ll find two computer models recommended by the instructors. However, you also have the option to purchase a pre-owned or refurbished computer.
