Become a drafting expert

Drafting and Design allows students to focus on Architectural or Mechanical Drafting using a variety of industry-standard software including AutoCAD, REVIT, SKETCH-UP, Solid Works, and various 3D rendering programs. Students take their own ideas, design them and create a full set of construction or manufacturing documents. Each student is required to complete a final project displaying the full gambit of their skill sets as a portfolio to share with potential employers.

From Our Drafting and design Students

Is the Drafting program Right For You?

This Program Is for Students Who:

  • Enjoy the process of imagining an idea, articulating the design on paper, drafting the design in software, and making it come to life through the building process.
  • Accept the challenge of identifying, addressing, and solving complex roadblocks that arise in drafting and design projects.
  • Are curious about and want to explore various careers within the drafting and design industry – ranging from positions in a startup to being a part of a large firm.

Students Love This Program Because:

  • They enjoy the ability to combine creativity with project management and critical thinking skills to achieve the desired outcome of a design.
  • Small class sizes create more opportunities for individualized instruction and opportunities for peer-to-peer learning.
  • They graduate from the program after completing a final project, demonstrating proficiency in their ability to take an idea and design and develop it through to a final scaled model.
