Do you enjoy working with your hands and solving technical challenges in mechanical systems? Do you have the problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions promptly? Are you intrigued by how heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems work together to control indoor environments? If this resonates with you, the HVACR program could be an excellent fit.

As a student of this program, you will:

    • Learn about refrigeration and A/C fundamentals
    • Gain knowledge of flues, ventilation, ducting practices, commercial airside systems, air quality, and an introduction to hydronic systems
    • Understand electrical fundamentals
    • Gain knowledge of solar power and storage for use in upcoming solar technologies

  • EPA 608 Certification
  • RGMA Certification

    HVACR Technician

    The HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration) program prepares students to install, troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential or commercial settings. 

    Upon completion of this course, students will have knowledge of safety, tools, air distribution, system components, and proper piping/brazing techniques. Students will be prepared to sit for the EPA 608 State Certification.

    Term 1

    CORE COURSES (9 CREDIT HOURS)

    TEAC 1010: Introduction to HVACR– 3 credit hours

    TEAC 1100: Electrical Essentials – 3 credit hours

    TEAC 1120: Heating Systems – 3 credit hours

    Term 2

    Advanced COURSES (12 CREDIT HOURS)

    TEAC 1140: Basic Refrigeration Systems – 3 credit hours

    TEAC 1160: Basic Installation Skills – 3 credit hours

    TEAC 1300: HVACR Residential and Commercial Air Conditioning Systems 2 credit hours

    TEAC 1200: HVACR Residential and Commercial Refrigeration 3 credit hours

    TEAC 1310: HVACR Exit Skills 1 credit hour

    • Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree.
