Program Overview
Learn more about Firefighting and becoming a Firefighter
The Firefighter Program is a competency based, hands‑on training program led by highly skilled firefighting professionals. Students gain practical fire academy experience in core emergency response situations, including structural firefighting, fire behavior and safety, incident command systems, personal protective equipment, search and rescue, ventilation, ladders, vehicle extrication, hazardous materials mitigation, and medical response. The curriculum is designed to mirror real world firefighting environments, ensuring learners develop the teamwork, technical proficiency, and decision making abilities essential for safe and effective firefighter related responsibilities.
Graduates of the program will be prepared for industry recognized certifications—namely Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Firefighter I, and Firefighter II—and positioned for immediate entry into the fire service workforce. Aligned with national standards and employer guidelines, the program equips students with the confidence, credentials, and practical skills needed to protect communities and serve with professionalism from day one.
