The NA program at Dixie Tech prepares students for entry into professional nursing as a Certified Nurse Assistant or CNA. This is the gateway through which anyone interested in a nursing career must pass. Kindness and compassion are unstated prerequisites for the program which is fast-paced with lots of hands-on learning opportunities. The program at Dixie Tech prepares students to take the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) exam to become recognized as a CNA. Graduates have the opportunity to work in a broad variety of environments from hospitals to home-health to long-term care facilities in many aspects of patient care.

About Your Nursing Assistant Instructor
Jami Griffin received her Bachelors of Nursing degree at Dixie State University. She is currently working on her Masters of Nursing at Western Governors University. Her health care experience includes hospice and home health, and the cardiovascular unit at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Jami has several years of teaching experience. She joined the Dixie tech team in 2020. Jami is married to Dr. Scott Griffin together they have nine children and 13 grandchildren.
Kristin Davis earned her Bachelors of Nursing degree from Eastern Kentucky University and started her nursing career in the trauma department at the University of Kentucky hospital. She began her teaching career at Bluegrass Community & Technical College in the Nursing Assistant program.
Kristin joined the faculty at Dixie Tech in 2019 as the lead instructor of the Nursing Assistant program. “ I enjoy teaching and sharing all the things I learned working at the bedside to enable new NA’s to thrive when they join the workforce. I tell my students that a healthcare education is a marathon and not a sprint, they can continue to learn as long as they desire to.”
