Learn more about our Accredited Culinary Arts program

The Culinary Arts program at Dixie Tech takes a rigorous approach for those with a passion for food who would like to become true professionals in a commercial kitchen environment. You will learn all aspects of high end cooking and baking, dining, catering, and management. Train under world-class chefs and learn the tricks of the trade to make your mark in the culinary world!

 As a student of this program, you will:

    • Learn proper kitchen sanitation and food safety practices.
    • Learn to bake things like, bread, muffins, cookies, custards, cakes, sauces and more.
    • Master foundational cooking skills.
    • Learn what is needed to operate banquets and catering events.

Attainable Certificates include:

    • Accredited Dixie Technical College Certificate
    • ServSafe Certification

This program prepares you for CAREERS such as:

  • Chef & Head Cook – Median Income $57k year, with top earners at $92k year.*

Culinary Arts
From the fundamentals of knife skills and ingredient selection to the intricacies of flavor pairing and presentation, you’ll cultivate a deep understanding of high-end culinary techniques. Additionally, you’ll gain expertise in dining service, catering, and kitchen management, honing your ability to orchestrate memorable culinary experiences.

  • Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree.

Cost of Accuplacer test: $15

Our industry-leading instructors, equipped with years of experience and knowledge, are prepared to mentor and guide the next generation of culinary experts.

CHAD LUETHJE

Chef Chad brings over 25 years of culinary experience leading kitchens at luxury resorts and spas like Enchantment Resort, Teton Mountain Lodge, Red Mountain Resort, and Miraval Resort. He has appeared on TV shows including Dr. Oz, Giuliana & Bill, and The Doctors, contributed to cookbooks, and presented at the James Beard House. Chef Chad is passionate about cooking, mentoring, business, and human resource management.

 

Jared Painter

Chef Jared is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, and a business Degree holder. He brings over 20 years of Experience in international and local cuisines. He has served as Executive Chef, Corporate Chef and Owner of Local Restaurants and overseen openings and worked in 4 and 5 Diamond properties in Utah and Jackson Hole, WY. He oversaw 14 restaurant openings locally and was a Best of State winner for 5 consecutive years. He loves guiding and teaching and is focused on the goal of Dixietech “Future Focused and Career Ready”.
