Getting your CDL

The Commercial Driver’s License program provides professional driver training with both classroom and in-vehicle training time. Students complete a range of driver competencies and become safe, comfortable, confident, law-abiding drivers. Students will be prepared to take the Utah State Driving Exam for the Class A Truck/Trailer.

What You Will Learn In The CDL Program

Vehicle Control Systems

The technique of double-clutching and floating gears.

      About Your CDL Instructor


      Heber Holm attended BYU and finished his degree at what was then known as Dixie College. He owned and operated a construction company for 25 years prior to becoming co-owner and superintendent of HD Trucking.

      Heber was also a field manager for Trade Star LLC, which provides oil field trucking and logistics services. Heber joined the faculty at Dixie Tech in 2019.
